ABOUT KAPTAIN HENDRIK WITBOOI

Hendrik Witbooi (c. 1830 – 29 October 1905) was a chief of the ǀKhowesin people, a subgroup of the Nama people in present-day Namibia. He led the Nama people during their revolts against the German colonial empire. Witbooi is regarded as one of the national heroes of Namibia, and his face is portrayed on the obverse of the N$10, N$20, N$50, N$100, and N$200 Namibian dollar banknotes.

The Hendrik Witbooi foundation was established and registered in the governing laws of Namibia in 20008.The Witbooi  Hendrik foundation is a joint initiative of Katein Hendrik Witbooi  descendants and Witbooi Royal House focused on Promoting the legacy and ideals of our Great-Grandfather Kaptain Hendrik Witbooi. In this regard, it is anchored on 5 principles: To promote his legacy,2. Preserve his artifacts, 3. Improve socio-economic conditions of the most vulnerable,4. Promote education, and 5. Promote youth entrepreneurship.
